About the position

We are seeking a talented and creative Architectural Designer to join our small team at RKV Design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural and/or interior design, particularly in residential and retail/hospitality projects. This part-time, contract role involves collaboration to develop design concepts, create detailed drawings in AutoCAD, and ensure that projects meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. The Architectural Designer will play a key role in bringing architectural visions to life through effective design practices.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with owner/designer to understand client needs and preferences for architectural, interior design and lighting design projects.
• Develop design concepts.
• Create detailed architectural drawings in AutoCAD 2024.
• Prepare schematics and CAD layouts that adhere to project specifications and standards.
• Develop material, plumbing, lighting, appliance schedules.
• Manage purchasing and maintain project budgets and spreadsheets.
• Incorporate graphic design elements into presentations and project documentation as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of schematics, CAD principles, system design, and graphic design techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A portfolio showcasing previous architectural work is required for consideration.
