About the position
The Junior Interior Designer will work closely with Strang's integrated team of professionals to develop designs, plans, and specifications for a variety of exciting project types. Working under the direction of design leads and project managers, you will gain knowledge and experience in all phases of our interdisciplinary design process.
Responsibilities
- Supports the lead designer in the development of interior design concepts and presentation materials for commercial, higher education, science, and technology projects.
- Develops pre-design graphics, renderings, and material boards for client presentations.
- Creates, updates, and maintains furniture and finish plans and schedules in Revit.
- Assists in the development of construction documents in adherence to the local building and accessibility codes.
- Supports the construction administration team during construction with shop drawing review, site visits, and the development of punch lists.
- Manage interiors library, vendor appointments, and sample requests.
Requirements
- Professional Degree in Interior Design or related field
- 3 or more years of related experience
- Familiarity with space planning, finish selection, and furniture specification.
- Desire to pursue professional certifications such as NCIDQ, LEED, and WELL preferred, but not required.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Revit knowledge required; have at least two years Revit experience in an academic or professional setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting and maintain a keen eye for design and details.

- Desire to pursue professional certifications such as NCIDQ, LEED, and WELL preferred, but not required.
