About the position

The Junior Interior Designer / Project Coordinator will join The Wonderful Company's in-house design team, contributing to a variety of high-end residential, commercial, and hospitality design projects. This role involves supporting project execution through meticulous organization, coordination of furnishings and materials, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare project schedules and timelines for interior FF&E, checking in regularly to confirm project directions and task alignment.
  • Organize binders to catalog the status of all furnishings, accessories, and art by room.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors and internal teams to obtain approval for estimated costs within budget and facilitate payment and delivery.
  • Oversee the receiving, opening, and inspecting of shipments, coordinating their integration into storage.
  • Track all purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
  • Support the preparation of architectural presentations and production drawings.
  • Assist the Senior Designer and Project Directors in selecting materials, FF&E, construction, and fabrication methods, including showroom visits and meetings with fabricators.
  • Provide overall team support for all assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in architectural or interior design and supporting office operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and discretion.
  • Ability to pivot quickly with changing project priorities and provide timely status updates.
  • Proven ability to work independently, taking minimal instruction and executing tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with design requirements, construction methods, furnishings, and materials, including interior design and antiques.
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or equivalent work experience.
  • Reliable transportation and a clean MVR record (background check required).
