About the position

Quality First Builders is a full-service DESIGN & BUILD boutique company located in Sherman Oaks, CA, seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and a willingness to take on various projects, ensuring that client needs are met while adhering to budget constraints. The role involves coordinating with clients and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services at the job site. Additionally, the designer will engage in social media activities to promote our projects and services. As a Junior Interior Designer, you will assist the Principal Designer in all aspects of the design process. This includes developing creative concepts, selecting items for clients, creating vision boards, visiting job sites and vendors, and managing budgeting tasks. The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in residential design, along with proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Revit. Knowledge of local vendors, showrooms, and current market trends is highly desirable. This role is part-time, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative concepts through design development.
  • Assist Principal Designer on all aspects of design.
  • Choose potential items for clients and create vision boards.
  • Visit job sites and vendors to ensure project alignment.
  • Manage budgeting tasks to stay within client budgets.
  • Coordinate with clients and contractors for timely project execution.
  • Engage in social media activities to promote design projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in residential design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and/or Revit.
  • Strong knowledge of local vendors, showrooms, and market trends.
  • Ability to multitask and manage various projects effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with 20/20 design software.
  • Background in furniture sales.
