About the position

The Junior Interior Designer is a key member of the design team, responsible for supporting senior designers in executing projects efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing project data, collaborating on design concepts, and ensuring that all necessary tools and resources are available for the team. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to multitasking.

Responsibilities

  • Enter all required project data and upload design selection documentation.
  • Keep project statuses up to date and store all project artifacts in the project management system.
  • Ensure the use of SmartSheets dashboards and maintain data accuracy for the team's projects.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create and develop design concepts for interior and exterior spaces.
  • Actively participate in project meetings, taking notes and communicating with clients on follow-up actions.
  • Complete tasks within the timeline and budget as provided by senior team members.
  • Create visual materials for client meetings and presentations.
  • Coordinate the creation of CAD drawings, 3D models, and renderings to visualize design concepts.
  • Conduct research on materials, products, and design trends to ensure innovative design solutions.
  • Assist seniors on job site walkthroughs and follow up with relevant parties on necessary items.
  • Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors and vendors.
  • Schedule meetings, book meeting rooms, and prepare necessary materials.
  • Maintain design team samples and ensure a clean and organized workspace and library.
  • Provide administrative support to the design team as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, track orders, and manage deliveries.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in an interior design firm or related field.
  • Completion of a certified design course or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Great written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to carry samples to clients and back to the office.
  • Knowledge of basic building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
