Our ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in high-end residential design, working knowledge of drafting, space planning, and vendor relations. The Junior Interior Designer will be collaborating in all phases of design from concept through installation and will be working alongside the design team. Applicants must reside in or near our San Francisco office and be able to reliably commute to the office Monday-Friday. The studio works a 9/80 schedule, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while ensuring project deadlines are met. This role is essential in supporting the design team and ensuring that all projects are executed to the highest standards, reflecting the vision of the Senior Designer or Principal. The Junior Interior Designer will participate and support the design team in all phases of multiple design projects, from design development through construction management and installation. This includes assisting with sourcing of furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes in line with client needs and project budgets. The designer will also develop furniture, fabric, and material studies for in-house designers and the principal, ensuring that all specifications are entered into the Design Manager program. Preparing presentation materials and assisting in presenting designs to clients and other consultants is also a key responsibility. The designer will provide input and help manage scope, scheduling, and budget requirements of each project, while preparing and maintaining supporting documents such as finish schedules, specifications, furnishing budgets, product/room matrices, and shop drawings. Additionally, the role involves organizing and managing all in-studio sample libraries and documents, coordinating all incoming and outgoing samples with multiple showrooms and vendors, and requesting estimates from vendors based on detailed client selections and designer specifications. The designer will generate purchasing documents for review and assist with gathering quotes, preparing proposals, and reviewing for accuracy. As needed, the designer will attend meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors, helping with scheduling and organization of installations, and relaying relevant information to the design team. Developing long-term relationships with clients, design showrooms, and vendors is crucial for success in this role.
