About the position

The Junior Interior Designer at Colwen Hotels will assist the Design Manager and Senior Designer throughout the design process, from initial stages to final installation. This role involves collaboration with Lead Designers and the Purchasing Team on hospitality and multi-family projects, including executing CD sets in Revit, creating finish schedules, and sourcing finishes. The position also includes managing vendor relationships and organizing the design library, contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment that fosters career growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Design Manager and Senior Designer in all aspects of the design process.
• Execute CD sets in Revit and create millwork shop drawings.
• Coordinate finish schedules and distribution plans.
• Select finishes, lighting, and furniture for projects.
• Develop concept and design presentations, including 3D renderings.
• Create project binders and presentation boards.
• Source additional project materials and maintain the design library.
• Manage vendor relationships and keep vendor information up to date.
• Oversee ordering samples and procuring pricing and specifications.
• Write technical specifications for FF&E and coordinate tags with designers and architecture.
• Work with Project Managers to enter furniture and lighting matrices into Design Smart.
• Review guestroom unit sheets and public spaces to quantify furnishings.

Requirements

• Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program.
• 1-3+ years of experience in the Interior Design industry.
• Detail-oriented and highly meticulous with a passion for the industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
• Strong communication and presentation skills in Adobe and Microsoft Suites.
• Revit experience is required.
