About the position

The Junior Java Full Stack Developer role is designed for individuals with 4-6 years of hands-on software engineering experience, focusing on both frontend and backend development. The position requires proficiency in React for frontend development and strong skills in Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs for backend development. The role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite in Plano, TX, and two days remote, making it suitable for local candidates or those willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack Java applications using React and Spring Boot.
• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with backend services.
• Work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years of experience with Core Java 8+, including Streams, Multithreading, Collections, and Exception handling.
• Strong knowledge of the Spring Boot framework and REST API design principles.
• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native application development, particularly on AWS.
• Experience writing streaming applications with Apache Kafka or similar technology.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
• Proficient in writing unit, functional, and integration tests, with experience using tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, Git, and Maven.
• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform.
• AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with tools like Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Experience with distributed databases like AWS RDS.
