About the position

The Junior Linux Systems Administrator at BlueHalo will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and security of systems that support national security and intelligence missions. This position involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining various environments while contributing to mission-critical projects. The role is designed for individuals ready to advance their careers in a dynamic and impactful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of the solution by monitoring the system and resolving issues.
  • Maintain configuration management and baseline control of various environments.
  • Conduct regular security scans and implement resolutions for vulnerabilities.
  • Operate and maintain the solution, including patching operating systems and applications.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain components of the solution such as application servers and databases.
  • Deploy systems in the Lab environment and perform testing and validation.
  • Manage and track configuration items including licenses and certificates.
  • Support deployments, upgrades, and updates to the production environment.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform trend analysis on component failures and system performance parameters.
  • Interact with vendors to evaluate products and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate with network engineers and developers to troubleshoot issues.
  • Escalate support issues to vendors and coordinate resolutions.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
  • Experience applying DevOps concepts and tools for automation.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, securing, and maintaining complex hardware and software products.
  • Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
  • Experience with enclave Ethernet switches, SAN, and NAS configurations.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
