About the position

AERMOR LLC is seeking a Junior Operational Research and Systems Analyst to support the Joint CONUS Directed Over-the-Horizon Radar (J-CONDOR) project. This full-time position is located in Suffolk, VA, and requires a solid background in Operational Research Systems Analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, obtaining relevant documents and directives, and establishing liaison with appropriate sponsors and other interested participants. The role involves applying test and evaluation methods and techniques such as test design, analysis, and evaluation to carry out assigned tasks of the J-CONDOR Joint Test (JT). The analyst will assist in the execution of the J-CONDOR Project Master Plan (PMP) and Detailed Test Plan (DTP). Responsibilities include test planning and preparation, data collection training, test article training, test execution, and fulfilling other requirements of the Joint Test and Evaluation (JT&E) Program Office (JPO). The analyst will develop and update test articles identified in the PMP and DTP, and will be required to travel to various locations within CONUS to support site visits, training, and conduct meetings, including Joint Warfighter Advisory Groups (JWAG) and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) Writing Groups (TWG). In addition, the analyst will provide input to the development of the Field Test 2 (FT-2) DTP according to the JT&E Program Handbook. A detailed data management and analysis plan will be executed to collect, manage, analyze, and evaluate test data to address test issues. The role also includes conducting Risk Reduction Events (RRE) for FT-2, emphasizing quality control, calibration, data collection strategy, key nodes, and desired data metrics. The analyst will manage the collection and storage of test event data, conduct data verification tests, identify discrepancies, and make recommendations for resolution. The position requires the analyst to assist with sorting, consolidating, and reducing data for analysis, presenting the status of the data to the JT Technical Director and JT&E Action Officer for data certification. The analyst will perform trial reconstruction and analysis of test data, providing conclusions from test findings to address test issues and sub-issues that lead to an assessment of problem statement resolution. Additionally, the analyst will assist in developing written findings, conclusions, and recommendations for input to the Final Report, document lessons learned during the conduct of JT for input into the Lessons Learned Report (LLR), and provide advice for resolving programmatic and test execution problems encountered. Finally, the analyst will assist with finalizing and transitioning all products to responsible organizations, including recommended changes to existing Joint and Service publications and drafting training materials for Service Schools.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the field of Operations Research.
  • Bachelor of Science in Operational Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field (Master of Science is highly desired).
  • Experience with problem description, test concept, data management, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Experience with various software tools including Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and JMP statistical software.
  • Capacity to independently develop and implement experiment designs.
  • Proficiency in creating and utilizing analytical tools including ANOVA, Generalized Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Factor Analysis, Means, Medians, Percentiles, Deviations, and Multivariate Analysis.
  • Proven capacity to develop automated analytical toolsets as necessary.
  • Academic and practical application of verification, validation, and accreditation of modeling and simulation is highly desired.
  • Ability to support data collection and test execution within DoD installations.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the customers' overall technical objectives and mission.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with legal drafting.
