The Junior Payroll Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting payroll systems activities associated with payroll and time and attendance processing. This position requires close collaboration with the Payroll Support team and internal operations staff to design new or modify existing payroll information systems to meet evolving requirements. This is a fully remote position, allowing for flexibility while contributing to our mission of transforming healthcare and serving as a leader of positive change. In this role, the Junior Payroll Systems Analyst will be responsible for understanding payroll concepts and tracking time effectively. Strong analytical skills are essential, as the analyst will work with a team throughout the system development life cycle process. Confidentiality is paramount; the analyst must maintain the privacy of all payroll data and ensure that personal information is only shared with authorized personnel. The analyst will also perform ad-hoc projects and other departmental tasks as assigned, adhering to Hackensack Meridian Health's organizational competencies and standards of behavior. This position is integral to ensuring that payroll systems operate smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the maintenance and support of payroll systems activities related to payroll and time and attendance processing.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Support team and internal operations staff to design or modify payroll information systems.
  • Understand payroll concepts and track time effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll data and restrict access to authorized personnel only.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other departmental tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to Hackensack Meridian Health's organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience with payroll configuration and processing using an ERP system.
  • General understanding of payroll processing and related system activities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a demanding environment with good organization and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related experience.
  • Prior experience with Oracle, PSOFT, and Workday ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL concepts.
  • Experience with documentation, design, testing, production support, and auditing.
