About the position

ATAC has an opening for a Junior Rotorcraft Safety Research Analyst. This is a full-time position that will be located part-time on-site at the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and part-time remote. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated member of ATAC's WJHTC team and will support various research efforts including aviation safety research. The role involves reviewing flight and simulator video data and marking it at pre-developed safety events, downloading and copying data from test activities, and conducting both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. This includes reviewing, classifying, and categorizing flight and simulation data. Additionally, the analyst will support the development of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and other related graphics, as well as the development of websites and other project materials. The position also entails supporting the development of heliports, flight procedures, and test scenarios, as well as the set-up and use of helicopter and eVTOL flight simulators. The analyst will be involved in the development, implementation, and use of eye-tracking tools, and will be responsible for developing models and analytical tools using big data and high-performance computing tools. A background check will be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Review flight and simulator video data and mark it at pre-developed safety events.
  • Download and copy data from test activities.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis including reviewing, classifying, and categorizing flight and simulation data.
  • Support the development of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and other related graphics.
  • Assist in the development of websites and other project materials.
  • Support the development of heliports, flight procedures, and test scenarios.
  • Assist in the set-up and use of helicopter and eVTOL flight simulators.
  • Support the development, implementation, and use of eye-tracking tools.
  • Develop models and analytical tools using big data and high-performance computing tools.

Requirements

  • A BS degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field with 0-4 years of related job experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient at using office productivity software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Knowledge/experience with Aviation operations.
  • Pilot experience/license.
