About the position

The Junior Scrum Master position is a contract role based in Miami, with a duration of 6+ months. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating Agile practices within the team, ensuring that Scrum methodologies are effectively implemented. This position requires a strong understanding of Jira, as the candidate will be responsible for managing and customizing workflows, prioritizing backlogs, and overseeing sprint management. The Scrum Master will also lead daily stand-up meetings, ensuring they are efficient and focused, while addressing any blockers that may arise during these sessions. In addition to managing the Scrum process, the Junior Scrum Master will be expected to handle cross-functional teams, navigating strong personalities and conflicting priorities. The ability to bring teams back on track when projects deviate from their goals is essential. The role also involves compiling and presenting dashboard reports for individual projects, focusing on key metrics that highlight project progress and potential issues. The candidate should be able to demonstrate how their reporting has previously identified critical issues early on, allowing for timely interventions. Technical skills are also a significant aspect of this role, particularly experience with servers and firewalls, including converting systems to Palo Alto. The Junior Scrum Master must balance their technical responsibilities with their Scrum Master duties, ensuring that both areas are managed effectively. Building and maintaining strong relationships with network engineers and other technical staff is vital, as is the ability to resolve conflicts and improve team performance through effective people skills. Finally, while certifications can be beneficial, the emphasis for this role is on practical skills and experiences. The candidate should be proactive in staying updated on the latest technologies and best practices, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in their career.

Responsibilities

Requirements
