About the position

GDIT is seeking a highly motivated Software Developer Associate to join our team in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM). This role involves developing, deploying, and maintaining mission-critical applications using Agile methodologies and DevSecOps processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement of software solutions that support national security and law enforcement missions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications using Java, GoLang, and C++.
• Provide support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
• Work on new development and re-engineering efforts, including making system design decisions.
• Implement enhancements to existing systems and coordinate with other developers.
• Perform QA/testing as needed and provide software development services on all tiers (UI, Java, Oracle).
• Engage with users to define system scope and objectives, contributing to design decisions.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of development experience in Java, Go, and/or C++ programming languages.
• Experience in Agile development methodology.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience implementing and configuring DevOps solutions.
• Experience in Struts and Restful services.
• Experience in Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, and SQL*Plus.
• Experience in UNIX/LINUX shell scripting.
• Certification in SAFe, SCRUM, or Kanban.
• Experience in Jira to support configuration management in an Agile environment.
