The Junior Software Tester position at DCS Corporation involves working within a small team of developers to test various software components, ensuring they meet business and system requirements. Responsibilities

  • Test various software components to ensure they meet business and system requirements.
  • Effectively communicate, document, and track system-related issues until resolution.
  • Utilize principles of systems engineering to analyze and recommend solutions.
  • Write and review test plans and detailed test cases for manual testing of web applications.
  • Build and configure test environments.
  • Execute tests in both informal and formal witnessed test environments.
  • Perform software and system level testing on product builds.
  • Report detailed defects and prepare Test Reports.
  • Provide test status to project team and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively in an integrated SAFe Agile team environment.
  • Actively participate in reviews and answer customer questions at the end of an iteration.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Program Increment System Demonstrations.
  • Desire to learn automation testing.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Minimum of a High School diploma plus 10 years of related experience, Associate's degree in related field plus 4 years of experience, Bachelor's degree in related field plus 2 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience.
  • Able to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of the software development processes.
  • Ability to test and assure quality of software, and work with users of software in group or individual settings.
  • Ability to multi-task between multiple projects.
  • Experience with source control and defect tracking software tools.
  • Experience with virtualization technology, creating and using Windows-based virtual machines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the SAFe Agile Framework.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mission planning needs of military aviators.
  • Experience with using Azure DevOps.
