SAIC is looking for a 100% remote Junior Software Testing Engineer
Job Description:
SAIC is looking for an experienced software testing engineer to work remotely joining an Agile Scrum team working on strategic projects supporting the United States Department of Agriculture s Natural Resources and Conservation Division. As a Software Tester you will be responsible for developing test plans based upon system requirements (functional/non-functional), creating test cases, performing manual/automation testing in accordance with approved test plans, and defect tracking and reporting. As a team member you will analyze requirements to determine test strategy and estimated level of effort, then create, review, and execute test cases that ensure system software performs according to documented business requirements, business rules, and technical specifications etc. This may also include the generation of test data for regression test suites, creation, review, execution, and maintenance of manual regression test suites.
Primary duties include:
Working with the Product Owner, Project Manager, and Development team on the implementation of new features and functions of the application
Creating test cases for user stories based on business requirements and acceptance criteria
Performing regression testing, smoke testing, API testing, UI testing, security testing, manual testing, and automation testing
Participating and following the Agile methodology implementation of scrum framework
Testing new user stories, and new/fixed bugs within the set sprint time
Ensuring there is a clear traceability between requirements, user stories and defects found
Design, build, and support an automated test framework for web applications
Creating a comprehensive and detailed test report for each sprint
Supporting client with troubleshooting their testing environment and resolving any ambiguity about test cases
Work effectively in an Agile software development environment
Interact closely with customers
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Bachelor s degree and 2+ years testing experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Hands-on, proven experience creating test plans and test cases
Ability to convert business requirements into testing plans and strategies
Familiar with all phases of the software development lifecycle
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Focus on team collaboration
Experience working in Scrum/Agile delivery teams
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (not required to start)
Desired Skills:
3+ years testing experience
Experience working with Atlassian Tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Experience in Bitbucket and/or Git
Experience with delivery and testing of software solutions that execute in cloud environments
SAFe Agile experience is a bonus
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
