The Junior SQL Server Developer/Analyst position at MSys Inc. is a hybrid role based in Charlottesville, Virginia, designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to data analytics and reporting projects. The selected candidate will initially be required to work on-site for the first week of engagement, followed by a minimum of one day per week on-site thereafter. This role is crucial for supporting a migration project, where the primary responsibilities will include creating and customizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports, analyzing and cleaning SQL data, and developing Business Intelligence reports and dashboards. The position requires a collaborative approach, as the Data Analyst will work closely with other team members, department stakeholders, vendors, and partners to design, develop, and implement effective reporting and data analytics solutions. The day-to-day responsibilities will heavily focus on the creation of SSRS reports, utilizing mockups provided by a configuration team to customize standard vendor reports. Additionally, the role will involve working on ETL processes to clean and load data into both on-premises and cloud databases, as well as SQL Server scripting and querying. The Data Analyst will also be responsible for performing data analysis, data profiling, SQL coding, query tuning, data modeling, and data validation. The ability to work independently or as part of a small team is essential, as is the capacity to engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop reports and address data access and visualization needs.
