About The Position

The Junior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer will play a crucial role in designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects within a diverse and fast-paced environment. This position involves direct design responsibilities, collaboration with various electric utility disciplines, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering.
• Experience in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
• Experience with substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, and site development.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Mathcad software.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT) preferred.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE software preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation software preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Interact with other electric utility disciplines to support high voltage utility Civil Substation projects.
• Perform design calculations and develop construction grade engineering design drawings under supervision.
• Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and participate in occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.
• Ensure compliance with quality control, safe work practices, and project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
• Collaborate with a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.
