About the position

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is a progressive research and development company with a 30+ year legacy of providing innovative products and services to the government and private sectors. The Integrated Mission Systems Sector has a unique opportunity for a Junior Technical Recruiter to support our team by playing a vital role in recruiting top talent to join our Sector! In this position, you will work closely with our leadership team and HR Managers to identify organizational needs, review, edit, and post job requisitions. Your primary responsibilities will include sourcing and attracting candidates using multiple recruiting tools, screening candidates, and setting up interviews while ensuring compliance during the interview process. Additionally, you will work to build and expand a pipeline of talent for future business needs and maintain relationships with both active and passive candidates as well as third-party agencies. This is an on-site/hybrid position, and the candidate is expected to reside in either Arlington, VA or the Raleigh, NC area. You will need to have the ability to travel to come into the office during the training period and for support of meetings and recruiting events. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree along with 0-2 years of relevant work experience, although equivalent professional experience (at least 6 years) will be considered for talented candidates without a degree. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as being flexible and open-minded to new ideas and collaborative feedback. Effective interpersonal, time management, and organization skills are also crucial, along with a high attention to detail and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree along with 0-2 years relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with recruiting in Computer sciences, Engineering/Science, and Technical Fields.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, time management, and organization skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and other Microsoft Office Applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior UltiPro Recruiting ATS experience.
  • Previous experience working in Government and/or the Defense Industry.
