About the position

MATC Group, Inc. is a respected provider of technical writing, instructional design, and knowledge management services, proudly serving various industries including health care, legal, software, manufacturing, financial services, IT, and telecom since 2009. As a Junior Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing the delivery of various technical documents such as user manuals, equipment specifications, and testing protocols. Your ability to adapt and convey technical material in a concise and effective manner will be essential in ensuring that complex information is accessible to a wide audience. In this position, you will be responsible for updating and maintaining existing documentation, following established documentation processes, and reviewing and editing content to ensure clarity and accuracy. You will also coordinate the display of related graphics, which will enhance the overall presentation of the technical documents. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of technical concepts, as you will be working closely with subject matter experts and project managers to gather and analyze data necessary for your writing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the delivery of various technical documents (e.g., user manuals, equipment specifications, testing protocols, etc.)
  • Adapt and convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.
  • Update and maintain existing documentation.
  • Follow documentation processes.
  • Review and edit content for clarity and accuracy.
  • Coordinate the display of related graphics.

Requirements

  • Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Technical Communications, Engineering and/or Science-related discipline with an emphasis on technical and/or process documentation or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience writing technical and/or similar documentation.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and logically.
  • Strong knowledge of the English language including rules and usage.
  • Strong research skills including gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources (subject matter experts, project managers).
  • Proficient in desktop publishing and using common authoring tools such as Adobe Acrobat and MS Office.
  • Advanced capabilities in screen capture and graphics modification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical writing experience for pharmaceutical or biotechnology products preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio, Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Presenter, as well as SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software is highly desirable.
