About the position

Leidos, a leader in defense systems, is seeking a talented Junior Electrical Test Engineer to join our diverse and highly-skilled team. This position is crucial for creating unique solutions for defense, missiles, aviation, and space systems. As a Junior Test Engineer, you will be involved in executing test plans for various phases of hardware projects, including development, qualification, and acceptance. You will work closely with experienced engineers to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of quality and performance. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and utilizing Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) test platforms to satisfy testing requirements. You will also perform test data analysis and complete requirements verification and validation documentation and reports. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong understanding of test engineering practices and processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles and hands-on experience with hardware or system integration, troubleshooting, and testing. You will be expected to work in various conditions, including outdoor environments, and may need to lift up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities

  • Executing test plans for development, qualification, and acceptance phases of hardware projects
  • Creating, modifying, and using Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) test platforms to satisfy testing requirements
  • Performing test data analysis
  • Completing requirements verification and validation documentation and reports

Requirements

  • ABET accredited B.S. or equivalent degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering
  • 2+ years of experience or less than 2 years with an MS degree
  • Knowledge of and experience with defense or commercial test engineering practices and processes
  • Experience developing and executing hardware or software test plans and procedures
  • Direct, hands-on experience with hardware, system integration, troubleshooting, and testing
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
