About the position

As a Junior UI/UX Developer (Analyst) at Visa, you will play a critical role in enhancing the user experience for our Screening Management software users. This position requires a strong technical background in various programming languages, particularly CSS, Java, and Python, to create and maintain dynamic user interfaces. You will collaborate closely with merchants, the Managed Risk Services team, and other departments to ensure that our merchants receive the quality of review they expect. Your understanding of past and current fraud industry standards will be essential in this role. Your responsibilities will include executing the Screening Management team’s business strategy across all regions, systematically ensuring that merchant processes are adhered to, identifying and communicating fraud trends, and contributing to cost reduction and productivity enhancement. You will be tasked with reviewing and evaluating transactions to identify fraudulent activities, assessing key risk factors, and utilizing various computer programs and tools to evaluate the risk of online transactions. Additionally, you will document transactions to explain the actions taken and ensure compliance with established Screening Management Guidelines and Expectations. This position is hybrid, allowing you to alternate between remote work and office presence. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week, determined by leadership, with a general expectation of being in the office at least 50% of the time based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate transactions to identify fraudulent activity
  • Identify and assess key risk factors
  • Assess potential risk exposure
  • Utilize several computer programs and tools to assess risk of online transactions
  • Escalate fraud trends to internal partners and merchants
  • Document transactions to explain action taken
  • Adhere to established Screening Management Guidelines and Expectations to meet and exceed performance expectations
  • Stay current on fraud trends, individual merchant expectations, service level agreements, and rules

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
  • Proven skill in creating world-class User Interfaces and User Experiences
  • Proficient in HTML, Java, and CSS to create a User Interface and exceptional user experience
  • Knowledge of programming languages, specifically Java, Python, Auto Hotkeys
  • Expert in online fraud and manual fraud review
  • Exposure to and understanding of varying merchant environments including past and current fraud trends
  • Ability to review and recognize fraud trends and behaviors and write and implement rules for SM Software based on those trends
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and VBA
  • Experience in office process optimization and automation
  • Help Desk or Tech Support experience is a plus
  • Excellent relationship management skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
