About the position

The Junior Videographer position at West40 Intermediate Service Center is designed for a creative individual passionate about storytelling through video. This role involves assisting in all stages of video production, from planning and recording to editing and post-production. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a media team to produce high-quality video content that supports the organization's communications goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, recording, and editing video content for various platforms (web, social media, internal use)
  • Capture still photos
  • Operate video cameras, lighting equipment, and audio equipment to ensure high-quality production
  • Collaborate with senior videographers and creative teams to execute projects that align with the company's brand and goals
  • Assist in video post-production, including editing, color correction, sound design, and final delivery
  • Work on-location or in-studio to capture footage, as required by the project
  • Ensure all video content is delivered on time and meets the creative brief and technical specifications
  • Maintain and organize video equipment and storage of digital media assets
  • Stay updated with the latest video trends, techniques, and software to bring fresh ideas to projects

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in videography, including recording and editing (internships, college work or freelance experience welcome)
  • Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Familiarity with video production equipment (cameras, lighting, microphones, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of video production workflows, including pre-production, recording, and post-production
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel in Illinois (up to 200 miles each way, 3-4 times a year) as needed

Nice-to-haves
