About the position

The Junior Visual Information Designer position at Patriot Enterprises LLC in Dahlgren, VA, is a full-time role that requires a blend of creativity and technical skills in visual design. The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree or higher in fine arts, communications, graphic design, or animation, or have three years of relevant experience in developing visual information and graphic art products. This role is pivotal in supporting command communication goals through the creation of various visual products using Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). The designer will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content across multiple platforms, including digital signage, websites, social media, and podcasts, ensuring that all deliverables meet the standards set by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy. In this role, the designer will utilize their expertise in graphic design software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium, to create technical and artistic illustrations for brochures, posters, exhibits, displays, and logos. The position also involves the design and production of 3-D models, audio, photography, animation, and simulation products. The designer will be expected to shoot and edit digital photographs and produce interactive multimedia products. Additionally, the role includes the development of physical exhibits, displays, posters, and banners, ensuring that all audiovisual products adhere to industry standards and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The Junior Visual Information Designer will also be responsible for tracking all requests for visual products, assigning tracking numbers, and entering special instructions with metadata for each produced item. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards in visual communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for visual information (VI) product deliverables annually to support command communication goals using Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
  • Utilize multiple mediums, including digital signage, websites, social media, podcasts, and other communication products as determined by the director of corporate communications.
  • Design and produce technical and artistic illustrations and graphic artwork for brochures, posters, exhibits, displays, and logos.
  • Provide design, graphics, and production services for plaques and custom framing/matting.
  • Perform design and development of 3-D models, audio, photography, animation, and simulation products, including shooting digital photographs, digital editing, and production of interactive/multi-media products.
  • Design, develop, and produce physical exhibits, displays, posters, and banners.
  • Provide editing into a professional audiovisual product in accordance with DoD, Navy, and industry audiovisual standards, adhering to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act standards.
  • Track all requests, assign tracking numbers, describe job contents, and enter special instructions with metadata for each product produced.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in fine arts, communications, graphic design, or animation OR three (3) years of related experience in developing visual information and graphic art products.
  • Expert in designing and developing visual information and graphic art products with demonstrated knowledge and capable of running graphic production equipment.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and After Effects.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Current Secret Clearance.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
