About the position

The Junior Wedding & Event Sales Manager is a pivotal role at Renault Winery Resort, responsible for delivering exceptional service and profitability for the resort's premium catering business. The Junior Sales Manager will facilitate the sales of weddings and events, maximizing opportunities for additional events during wedding weekends. This role involves coordinating all wedding sales and related business, ensuring that every detail is meticulously managed to provide a seamless experience for clients and guests. In this role, the Junior Sales Manager will promote and portray the VIVÂMEE Values, prospect and schedule appointments for guests to view the facilities, and provide an overview of the resort's packages and options. Collaboration with Sales Managers is essential to confirm availability of event space, lodging, and food and beverage needs. The Junior Sales Manager will create tailored proposals for wedding couples, close sales, and manage all aspects of the sales process, including writing contracts and agreements. The position also involves attending regional bridal shows, collecting payments, and coordinating all details leading up to and including the day of the event with the catering team. The Junior Sales Manager will prepare Event Orders, communicate any changes with staff, and ensure that guests enjoy their stay. Flexibility is crucial, as weekend availability is required. The role includes participation in weekly meetings to address issues and concerns related to the wedding segment, daily use of catering and CRM software, and building rapport with clients to ensure a positive experience. Continuous improvement and staying current on event trends are also key responsibilities, as is ensuring that events are executed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and portray the VIVÂMEE Values.
  • Prospect, schedule and follow through with appointments for guests to view facilities and provide an overview of packages and options.
  • Work alongside Sales Managers to determine and confirm availability of event space, lodging, and food and beverage needs.
  • Sell room blocks with wedding sales.
  • Create proposals based on the needs, interests, and expectations of the wedding couple.
  • Close sales and manage all aspects of sales management.
  • Write multi-layered contracts and agreements covering all aspects of a wedding/wedding weekend.
  • Attend regional bridal shows.
  • Collect payment from guests.
  • Coordinate all details leading up to and including the day of the event with the catering team.
  • Prepare Event Orders for distribution.
  • Communicate and confirm any event changes with the appropriate staff.
  • Complete Event Orders with guaranteed counts, settle any financial debts or credits.
  • Mail thank you letters along with a guest questionnaire.
  • Ensure the safety of staff and guests.
  • Ensure guests enjoy their stay.
  • Work closely with the Banquet leader and coordinators.
  • Participate in weekly Group Impact Meetings and BEO Meetings.
  • Daily use of Catering and CRM software to book event space and create BEO's.
  • Answer questions from guests via email regarding vendor recommendations, hotel room blocks, onsite amenities, etc.
  • Build rapport and establish trust with clients and guests; ensure prompt, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Follow up with any guest complaints and ensure full resolution.
  • Solicit and review client, guest, and manager feedback.
  • Stay current on all event trends to remain competitive within the event industry.
  • Ensure events are executed at the highest standards set by protocol with the catering team.
  • Ensure safety and security procedures are followed.
  • Develop vendor relationships, attend networking meetings, and plan bridal events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required; experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 1 year in progressive catering/sales roles within the hospitality industry, in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated success in creating creative and practical solutions to increase employee productivity and maximize profitability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail regarding event execution, hospitality culture, venue conditions, and required human capital skill sets.
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills for client, employee, and vendor interactions.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Collaborative with leadership teams to optimize client experience, productivity, and financial results.
  • Strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills.
