About the position

The Junior WordPress Developer position at PITS Global Data Recovery Services involves the development and maintenance of responsive, high-performance websites. The role focuses on ensuring that all web projects meet accessibility standards, are optimized for cross-browser compatibility, and perform well according to Google Speed Insights. The developer will work closely with team members to deliver solutions that align with business objectives while continuously improving website performance and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Development of all web projects, ensuring successful delivery of responsive, high-performance websites.
• Develop responsive websites for seamless user experience across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Ensure all websites meet accessibility standards and are optimized for cross-browser compatibility.
• Ensure website performance meets or exceeds a 95 score on Google Speed Insights, applying best practices for speed, efficiency, and scalability.
• Continuously monitor and improve website performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks related to loading times, rendering, and resource usage.
• Customize and optimize WordPress themes and plugins for best performance.
• Modify and extend WordPress functionality using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML for dynamic website features.
• Modify existing codebases to enhance functionality and performance, ensuring smooth integration with backend systems.
• Implement and maintain best practices for technical SEO, including site architecture, metadata, schema markup, and page speed optimization.
• Provide ongoing support for existing websites, troubleshooting issues and implementing fixes in a timely manner.
• Perform regular site audits and updates to ensure security, performance, and compliance with web standards.
• Stay up-to-date with web development trends, tools, and technologies, applying new skills to improve the company's web presence.
• Collaborate with managers and team members to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in IT/computer science or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with WordPress theme development and management.
• Understanding of responsive design principles.
• Eagerness to learn about SEO, content management, and web development tools like Elementor.
• Ability to write clean, well-documented code.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
