About the position

The Jury Supervisor is responsible for managing, supervising, and monitoring the functions and work activities of an assigned unit within the Clerk of the District Court. This role ensures compliance with state statutes and court rules while fostering effective relationships with various stakeholders. The incumbent will oversee jury management processes, maintain records, and support the development of procedures and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned staff including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations to create a respectful work environment.
• Perform administrative functions related to jury panels and supervision.
• Utilize training programs to improve service delivery.
• Develop and implement procedures and work methods for jury management.
• Monitor relevant legislation affecting jury services.
• Oversee technology needs related to jury management systems and maintain the Jury Website.
• Prepare and maintain statistical and management reports.
• Process juror questionnaires and manage jury lists and seating charts.
• Serve as a liaison for judges and courtroom staff regarding jury operations.
• Plan and conduct jury orientations for prospective jurors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of clerical experience required.
• Two years of experience with Microsoft Office required.
• Must be a Notary Public or eligible to become one in Nebraska.
• Completion of a pre-employment criminal record check and drug screen required.
