About the position

The Director of Project Management at the Justice Administrative Commission (JAC) will oversee and manage various projects within the organization, applying project management principles and practices to ensure successful project delivery. This role involves initiating projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and maintaining comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The Director will also be responsible for establishing project management standards and coordinating with internal resources and external vendors to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate projects by working with the Sponsor to identify stakeholders, create a project charter, and define the scope of the project.
  • Manage the Project Management lifecycle from beginning to end and communicate frequently with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Manage relationships with relevant stakeholders and create Project Management plans as defined in the PMBOK.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets, diagrams, and charts to communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Coordinate internal resources and ensure their availability when needed.
  • Establish and maintain JAC's project management standards, standard operating procedures, and templates.
  • Assist in procuring outside vendors and meet with them to assess progress and clarify project requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of experience with project management.
  • A bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, business management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
  • Knowledge of Chapter 60.GG, Florida Administrative Code.
  • Skilled in using project management templates provided by the Florida Digital Service.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology.
