About the position

The Director of Project Management at the Justice Administrative Commission (JAC) will oversee project management initiatives, applying knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves managing the project lifecycle, stakeholder relationships, and project documentation while establishing project management standards and assisting in vendor procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate projects by identifying stakeholders and defining project scope.
  • Manage the Project Management lifecycle from beginning to end.
  • Communicate frequently with stakeholders and project teams to ensure buy-in and progress.
  • Create Project Management plans as defined in the PMBOK.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of projects.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using verification techniques.
  • Manage budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Measure performance using project management tools and techniques.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets, diagrams, and charts to communicate progress.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Coordinate internal resources with Functional Managers and the Sponsor.
  • Establish and maintain JAC's project management standards and templates.
  • Curate JAC's project management central repository.
  • Assist in procuring outside vendors and assess their progress.
  • Attend conferences and training to maintain proficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of experience with project management.
  • A bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, business management, or a related field.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Chapter 60.GG, Florida Administrative Code.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and policies.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology.
