About the position

The Juvenile Supervisor at Abraxas Academy is responsible for managing and directing the activities of a treatment unit for at-risk adolescents. This role involves providing supervision to staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and serving as a role model to promote employee growth and development. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage for safety.
• Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities.
• Structure, implement, and facilitate new employee on-the-job orientation.
• Conduct supervisory conferences and performance evaluations, documenting the content and providing feedback.
• Schedule employee training to meet mandatory requirements.
• Provide ongoing supervision to unit employees and monitor case management activities.
• Demonstrate appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and supervise staff in its use.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human services field and one-year experience in residential treatment, OR Associate's degree with three years' work experience with children.
• Prior supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to self-start, work independently, and adhere to timelines.
• Ability to maintain Safe Crisis Management (SCM) certification.
• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Successful completion of a physical exam, TB test, and drug testing.
• Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI, and State Child Abuse Clearances).
• Ability to work with computers and necessary software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in juvenile justice or social work.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
