About the position
The JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach will be responsible for leading and developing the junior varsity ice hockey team at Simsbury High School during the 2024-25 season. This role involves coaching student-athletes, planning practices, and ensuring the team's competitive readiness while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the JV Boys Ice Hockey team during practices and games.
- Develop practice plans and strategies to enhance team performance.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive environment for student-athletes.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and coaching standards.
Requirements
- Prior coaching experience in ice hockey.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Valid CT coaching certificate.
- Completion of Module 15 training on concussion management.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience coaching at the high school level or higher.
- Knowledge of ice hockey rules and regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Benefits
