About the position

The JV Boys Ice Hockey Coach will be responsible for leading and developing the junior varsity ice hockey team at Simsbury High School during the 2024-25 season. This role involves coaching student-athletes, planning practices, and ensuring the team's competitive readiness while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the JV Boys Ice Hockey team during practices and games.
• Develop practice plans and strategies to enhance team performance.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive environment for student-athletes.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and coaching standards.

Requirements

• Prior coaching experience in ice hockey.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Valid CT coaching certificate.
• Completion of Module 15 training on concussion management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience coaching at the high school level or higher.
• Knowledge of ice hockey rules and regulations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Benefits
