About the position

Hodis Learning & Music is seeking experienced and kind educators to serve as K-12 English and History tutors and homeschool teachers. The role involves tutoring students in English Language Arts and Social Studies across elementary, middle, high school, and potentially college levels. Educators will conduct in-person sessions primarily in students' homes within the South Pasadena area, with a commitment of at least 10 hours per week. The position emphasizes a supportive and respectful learning environment, catering to diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Tutor English and social studies to elementary, middle, and high school students, and college students 3 days per week.
• Travel by car between meeting locations to tutor students.
• Communicate with families to schedule sessions.
• Commit to at least 10 hours/week, with potential for more hours as time goes on.

Requirements

• At least a bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years of tutoring/instruction experience.
• Ability and desire to work with students of all ages.
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience tutoring neurodivergent students.
• Ability to tutor multiple subjects.
• Scored at least 1400 on the SAT or equivalent.
