Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and scheduling equipment, materials, and personnel for special transportation jobs.
• Lead the work of specialized maintenance and/or technical workers.
• Respond to emergency notifications as needed.
• Assist in assigning and overseeing the work of special jobs and contracted crews.
• Coordinate with local authorities to develop and implement traffic management plans for special events and incidents.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous material spills on highways as required.
• Prepare and give presentations to the public regarding area of responsibility.
• Prepare daily and weekly work schedules.
• Procure and manage payment for specialized contractors for incident clean-up and removal.
• Ensure projects follow established safety guidelines.
• Handle public complaints.
• Inspect maintenance contract work.
• Train employees on the use of equipment and procedures.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience in coordinating transportation jobs and activities.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures related to transportation and maintenance work.
• Ability to lead and train specialized maintenance and technical workers.
• Strong communication skills for public presentations and interactions with private entities.
