About the position

The 1 on 1 Aid position at the Kaleidoscope After-School Program is designed to support children with disabilities in a safe and engaging after-school environment. Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with the student during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Implement classroom management techniques to maintain an orderly environment conducive to learning.
• Assist in developing and delivering educational programs tailored to meet the needs of a diverse learner.
• Provide support for students with special education needs, helping them to achieve their individual goals.
• Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in behavior management and educational practices.

Requirements

• Strong classroom management abilities to create a structured learning environment.
• Experience in camp settings or daycare facilities is preferred.
• Proficiency in behavior management techniques to support student engagement.
• Background in special education is a plus, enabling effective support for diverse learners.
• Experience working directly with children in educational or recreational settings.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures to ensure student safety during activities.
• Ability to educate students effectively while fostering a nurturing atmosphere.
