About the position

The General Sales Manager at Kelley Automotive Group is responsible for overseeing the New and Used Sales Department, ensuring the successful operation of the sales team, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves managing sales personnel, setting sales goals, and implementing effective marketing strategies to drive profitability in the sales department.

Responsibilities

  • Act as General Sales Manager of New and Used Sales Department.
  • Hold Sales Managers accountable for their assigned duties and responsibilities within the sales department.
  • Maintain and promote customer satisfaction by ensuring prompt service.
  • Build, train, and maintain a sales organization aware of customer needs.
  • Manage and control the non-confrontational sales system.
  • Insure profitability of the sales department through vehicle sales and other profit centers.
  • Maintain and supervise the non-confrontational sales process and all sales forms.
  • Learn and maintain appraisal procedures consistent with dealership policy.
  • Keep abreast of changes in competition and market conditions.
  • Set monthly and yearly goals with sales staff and maintain adequate floor coverage.
  • Order new vehicles according to market demand and customer needs.
  • Full control of the ordering and stocking of new car inventory.
  • Responsible for managing dealer trades and coaching managers on best practices.
  • Coordinate with lot porters on inventory display and merchandising.
  • Strategize with the general manager to hit SFE and EBE components.
  • Design and align marketing and advertising campaigns around SFE objectives.
  • Create a go-to market plan and manage Facebook ads and online presence.
  • Confirm all appointments and ensure sales consultants complete tasks.
  • Conduct regular sales staff meetings and assist in recruitment and training.
  • Establish good working relationships with other departments to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Approve timecards and PTO requests for the sales department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid in-state driver's license.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Prior experience in the automobile industry.
