About the position

The B Team Wrestling Coach at Kenai Middle School is a temporary position focused on developing and implementing a comprehensive wrestling program for middle school athletes. The coach will be responsible for training athletes, preparing them for competitions, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. This role requires collaboration with academic and co-curricular programs, emphasizing sportsmanship and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Implement a coaching philosophy that aligns with middle school athletics expectations.
• Train athletes and prepare them for interscholastic competition.
• Develop athletes' skills at a competitive level.
• Manage inventory, ordering, program budget, and program evaluation.
• Enforce discipline and nurture student needs.
• Model sportsman-like behavior at all times.
• Work within KPSAA rules and philosophy for extracurricular activities.

Requirements

• Must have or be willing to obtain verification of approved Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and First Aid Health and Safety courses.
• Experience in coaching wrestling is required.
• Ability to work as a team leader and coordinate with academic and co-curricular programs.
