About the position
The Kennel Attendant position at Northwest Animal Hospital involves caring for animals in a clinical setting, ensuring their well-being and cleanliness. The role requires transporting animals, maintaining a sanitary environment, and providing companionship and support to animals in distress. This part-time position may evolve into a full-time role based on clinic needs.
Responsibilities
- Transporting animals to and from kennels.
- Cleaning and sanitizing the clinic as needed.
- Ensuring that the animals have ample fresh food and water at all times.
- Cleaning animal waste, spilled food, and other debris from the kennels.
- Disposing of trash in a timely manner.
- Accompanying animals on walks.
- Calming animals in distress.
- Reporting significant changes in functioning to the Veterinarian on duty.
Requirements
- A passion for animal welfare.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience caring for animals is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to lift 50 pounds unaided.
- Must have reliable transportation.

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required.
