About the position

K9 Lifeline is seeking a passionate and dedicated Kennel Technician to join our team at our Doggy Daycare and Training Facility in Draper, UT. This role is perfect for dog lovers who want to make a positive impact on the lives of dogs and their families. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and happiness of the dogs in our care. Our facility is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment where dogs can thrive, and we pride ourselves on our unique training model that helps dogs of all temperaments learn better behaviors. In this full-time position, you will have the opportunity to work with dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds, and you will play a crucial role in their daily care. Your responsibilities will include feeding and administering medications, supervising dogs in a social environment, maintaining cleanliness in the kennels and social areas, and providing exercise and enrichment through walks and play sessions. You will also interact with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner, providing them with updates on their dogs' behavior and well-being. Responsibilities

  • Feed and administer medications to dogs
  • Give dogs potty breaks and clean up after them
  • Supervise dogs in a social environment and ensure safety
  • Maintain organization of all areas
  • Deep clean kennels and social rooms
  • Take dogs for walks, play sessions, or give massages for VIP dogs
  • Interact with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner
  • Learn K9 Lifeline's training process to create calm dogs
  • Understand dog behavior to provide detailed reports to owners

Requirements

  • Not currently a high school student
  • Enjoy being around dogs and be comfortable with dog hair and slobber
  • Ability to clean up animal waste
  • Act with patience and compassion towards dogs
  • Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds and be on feet for long periods
  • Sharp attention to detail for feeding, medication, and exercise
  • Eagerness to learn K9 Lifeline's unique programs and processes
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Maintain a positive attitude and support colleagues

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in animal care or training
  • Knowledge of dog behavior and training techniques
  • Previous experience in a kennel or daycare setting
