About the position

The Kettle Coordinator is a seasonal position at The Salvation Army responsible for recruiting, training, and coordinating the work of bell ringers during the Christmas season. This role ensures that all kettle locations are adequately staffed and that operations run smoothly, while also preparing reports and maintaining records related to kettle income and volunteer hours.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, recruits, screens, and selects bell ringing staff and volunteers to ensure all sites are covered effectively.
• Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with Salvation Army policies.
• Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; addresses questions, concerns, or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence.
• Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program.
• Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; maintains special event records for future reference.
• Meets with community leaders and organizations to discuss Salvation Army needs.
• Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
• Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience working with kettle fundraising programs preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver's License.
