About the position

The Key Account Manager (KAM) for Beauty and Personal Care at Univar Solutions is responsible for driving profitable sales growth through strategic management of key national accounts. This role emphasizes building long-term, value-based relationships with clients while focusing on new business development and enhancing existing customer engagement. The KAM will utilize a consultative sales approach to identify opportunities and implement growth strategies, ensuring customer satisfaction and effective coordination with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Improve Univar Solutions' position within each assigned account using consultative and in-depth selling.
  • Build and implement short, medium, and long-term customer growth strategies.
  • Discover new business opportunities and grow Univar Solutions' presence at existing key accounts.
  • Keep detailed records of all activities in Salesforce.
  • Provide professional input on complex assignments and projects and direct more junior professionals.
  • Set pricing and service levels, maintain and coordinate customer quotations, and provide vital information to local branches.
  • Coordinate with Local Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure accurate inventory levels and overall customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience managing large corporate accounts in the Beauty & Personal Care industry.
  • Sales experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or chemical industry sales is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Science, Chemistry, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Ability to be an effective leader and teammate.
  • Deep understanding of business, financials, products/services, and market needs/challenges of assigned accounts.
  • Strong communication skills to develop successful business relationships with customers and internal teammates.
  • Excellent digital literacy including MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.com.
  • Strong business acumen regarding the relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
