About the position

The Key Account Manager - Data Center at HARTING Americas is responsible for driving business development activities within designated National and Key Accounts, focusing on the full range of HARTING products and technologies. This role aims to establish HARTING as a trusted advisor and expert in industrial connectivity solutions, particularly within the hyperscale datacenter market. The Key Account Manager will develop strategic partnerships, execute business development functions, and maximize revenue potential while ensuring effective communication between various corporate divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute business development activities to penetrate designated National and Key Accounts.
  • Map the network of manufacturing plants, design and decision-making centers, and supply chain methods associated with key accounts.
  • Evaluate connectivity potential and determine market share against competitors.
  • Propose and execute medium to long-term penetration plans to maximize HARTING's market share.
  • Develop business relationships at high levels within key accounts and major subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project activities with Market Development Management and Product Management.
  • Design in HARTING products into customer equipment and automation lines.
  • Review customer plans and industry standards to prepare cost-effective solutions.
  • Analyze and propose changes for cost reduction or operational improvement.
  • Provide technical training to client employees as needed.
  • Prepare monthly sales activity reports and forecasts for management.
  • Represent HARTING at relevant tradeshows and maintain records of account activity in CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering).
  • Five or more years of experience in technical solutions selling or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prior knowledge and use of CRM and SAP preferred.
  • Ability to travel along the West Coast, with travel expectations of 60-70% if residing outside the West Coast.
