About the position

The Key Account Manager - Energy at HARTING Americas is responsible for planning and executing business development activities to penetrate designated National and Key Accounts. This role focuses on driving sales and establishing HARTING as a trusted advisor in industrial connectivity solutions within the energy sector, including generation, transmission, and distribution applications. The position requires building strong relationships with key stakeholders and coordinating project activities to maximize HARTING's market share and identify new product development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Map network of manufacturing plants, design and decision-making centers, supply chain methods, subcontractors, contract manufacturers, and distributors associated with designated key accounts.
  • Evaluate overall connectivity potential and determine market share against competitors.
  • Propose and execute medium to long-term penetration plans to maximize market share and identify new product development opportunities.
  • Develop business relationships at high levels within key accounts and major subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project activities with Market Development Management and Product Management for efficient information flow.
  • Design in HARTING products into accounts' equipment and automation lines by collaborating with customer engineering and supply chain personnel.
  • Review plans and customer standards to develop cost-effective solutions using HARTING products.
  • Analyze and propose changes in equipment, processes, or materials for cost reduction or operational improvement.
  • Provide technical training to client employees as needed.
  • Prepare monthly sales activity reports and forecasts for management.
  • Represent HARTING at relevant tradeshows.
  • Maintain a reliable record of all account activity in CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering).
  • Five or more years of experience in technical solutions selling or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prior knowledge and use of CRM and SAP.
