About the position

The Key Account Manager (KAM) for Epilepsy at LivaNova is responsible for managing a designated Key Account Territory, focusing on cultivating therapy advocates and developing relationships with referring physicians at Comprehensive Epilepsy Centers (CECs). The KAM will execute account plans, collaborate with team members, and ensure effective communication and education regarding VNS Therapy for Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE). This role requires a strategic approach to sales and account management, with a strong emphasis on building professional relationships and promoting the value of VNS Therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed sales objectives and manage Key Account territory daily.
  • Establish and execute long-term strategy for Key Accounts.
  • Create and maintain business plans for Key Accounts and physician targeting plans.
  • Collaborate with Territory Managers and Specialists to execute physician and account strategies.
  • Engage with epileptologists, neurologists, and surgeons to provide therapy information and identify patients.
  • Identify barriers to VNS Therapy adoption and develop plans to address them.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture consistent with LivaNova values.
  • Build and maintain productive professional relationships with customers.
  • Provide education to referring physicians about DRE treatment gaps and available resources.
  • Demonstrate in-depth product and therapy knowledge and clinical aptitude.
  • Provide surgical case coverage and technical support during dosing appointments.
  • Negotiate pricing and manage inventory with buying managers.
  • Monitor account performance and proactively identify issues.
  • Participate in professional outreach programs and support DRE education programs.
  • Lead weekly territory team meetings to review progress and strategy.
  • Coordinate with case management for patient education and account interactions.
  • Mentor Territory Specialist, if applicable.
  • Maintain physician and account information within LivaNova CRM tool.
  • Complete administrative requirements accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree preferably in life sciences, nursing, allied health, or business.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years successful medical device or pharmaceutical selling experience.
  • Self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with customers and patients.
  • Intellectual capacity to interpret trends and data and translate into actions.
  • Strong work ethic with a resilient results orientation.
  • Training experience in related field.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering solid, value-based physician relationships.
  • Solid process orientation and resource management experience.
  • Robust interpersonal skills with evidence of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strategic thinking and appropriate risk allocation.
  • Leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5-10+ years' experience managing relationships with large hospitals.
  • Comfort with non-clinical administrators and executives.
  • Ability to engage in clinical conversations with physicians and surgeons.
  • Familiarity with epilepsy and latest research.
