About the position

As a Key Account Manager at Smiths Detection, you will be responsible for managing strategic customer relationships with U.S. Federal Government agencies and major commercial clients. Your role will focus on driving revenue growth by enhancing existing relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting advanced threat detection technologies and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored security solutions and ensure the successful execution of contracts, positioning Smiths Detection as a trusted provider in the security solutions market.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, nurture, and maintain relationships with clients at all levels.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate and secure contracts throughout the full sales cycle.
  • Develop short and long-term account strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Meet or exceed revenue targets through proactive and resourceful approaches.
  • Cross-sell and upsell additional products or services to enhance account value.
  • Proactively address and resolve client issues to maintain a positive experience.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years in strategic sales, account management, or business development.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing U.S. Federal Government and large commercial markets selling technology solutions.
  • Experience with Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), and Global Commercial contracts.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Federal Government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively to large groups.
