About the position

The Key Account Manager position at Tirlán is a fixed-term contract role focused on managing and expanding relationships with key customers in the Americas, specifically in the B2B ingredients sector. The role involves executing regional market strategies, collaborating with various internal teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and support. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving business growth by understanding customer needs and promoting Tirlán's diverse portfolio of dairy and plant-based ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Grow business by engaging with current and new customers, understanding their needs, and communicating how Tirlán can support their growth.
  • Coordinate and arrange customer visits to ensure a positive experience and foster an environment of growth and innovation.
  • Attend regional, national, and international trade events and conferences to develop new business and strengthen existing partnerships.
  • Understand and interpret technical product information and research data for customers with varying levels of expertise.
  • Evaluate market conditions and maintain awareness of national and international market trends to forecast future business prospects.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director to develop distribution channel plans and manage incoming customer leads.
  • Manage new customer setups and associated activities, providing sales activity and customer visit reports through the digital ERP system.
  • Provide customers with sales quotes and upload contracts in the ERP system upon completion of sales.
  • Enter sample requests for customers and follow up on samples to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide and update customer forecasts through the company forecast system regularly, at least once per week.
  • Facilitate communication among various departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills in all forms.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and the ability to analyze business trends and product cycles.
  • Understanding of the Dairy Industry, including products, pricing, applications, and competitors.
  • Familiarity with tariffs and regulatory requirements for food production from Ireland to North America.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers.
  • Proficiency in managing corporate and customer confidential information.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily within North America.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical information and deliver public presentations.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and resourceful with a dynamic and flexible approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade across various functional areas.
