About the position

The Key Account Manager for HVAC in the Western US will manage all aspects of engagements with key accounts, focusing on building relationships and understanding customer needs to provide appropriate products and solutions. This role involves defining sales and growth strategies, identifying opportunities, and enhancing Resideo's market presence and share within designated key accounts. The position requires collaboration with various internal teams to drive continuous improvement and lead change in a premier sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute annual sales plan for assigned accounts leveraging internal resources to maximize sales growth.
  • Achieve annual sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships, growth strategies, roadmaps, and competitive analyses of assigned accounts.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales Director, Key Account Sales Leadership, Channel Marketing, Regional Sales Leaders, and Product Management teams to develop new growth strategies.
  • Develop effective Sales and Marketing programs and tools specific to assigned accounts.
  • Manage customer marketing funds to support key strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate account product requirements and collaborate with marketing to develop account-specific strategies.
  • Utilize CRM tools to update management and sales reps on progress and opportunities.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with customers.
  • Provide product training to distributor reps and HVAC contractors.
  • Coordinate with team members to maximize sales coverage of key markets.
  • Participate in industry trade shows and specialized training seminars.
  • Host open houses to showcase Resideo products to contractors.
  • Maintain current business and manage growth.
  • Train contractors and distributors on product value.
  • Develop the distribution base to grow the business.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales or Account Management
  • Experience in the HVAC and/or plumbing industries

Nice-to-haves

  • HVAC sales or technician experience
  • Significant experience in a Sales/Account Management related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to influence at varying levels across the organization
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience with the Microsoft product suite
  • Outside/external customer sales experience
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful client relationships and territory plans
  • Demonstrated track record of driving results and sales growth
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Experience selling in a contracting environment
  • Proven relationship-building skills
