About the position

The Regional Key Account Manager for Meijer, Giant Eagle, and Hy-Vee is responsible for managing all aspects of business relationships with these key retailers. This role focuses on fostering trust and collaboration with Category Managers to drive revenue growth and profitability. The position requires strategic planning for promotional activities, new product launches, and effective communication with internal teams to ensure successful execution of sales and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of business related to Meijer, Giant Eagle, and Hy-Vee.
  • Create strategy for promotional calendars and cost-effective retailer programming.
  • Review plans and promotional history to evaluate tradespend/ROI and increase profitability.
  • Lead new item and innovation presentations to retailers.
  • Gain new distribution and lead the customer set-up and onboarding process.
  • Create strategy and priorities for field teams and merchandising partners.
  • Ensure new items are set up for launch and monitor POs for timely fulfillment.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with Demand Planner and Ops team for accurate forecasts.
  • Meet bi-weekly with trade marketing team to organize marketing activations.
  • Report weekly to National Account Manager on retailer status and focus.
  • Create presentations for leadership on key account priorities and initiatives.
  • Attend tradeshows such as Expo West or Expo East.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in conventional grocery retailers and the CPG industry.
  • Strong understanding of customer behavior and market dynamics.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written/oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Competence in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Slack and Zoom.
  • Clean driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in key account headquarter level management.

  • Comfortable working in an early-stage company.
