About the position

The Key Account Manager - Transplant (KAM) serves as the primary liaison between Takeda Pharmaceuticals and transplant centers within a designated territory. This role focuses on promoting Takeda's transplant products and associated services to a variety of healthcare professionals involved in the transplant process. The KAM is responsible for achieving sales targets, developing strategic account plans, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective product access and support.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and Management by Objective (MBO) goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical account planning, including uncovering needs and stakeholder mapping.
  • Identify and prioritize business goals and help define value propositions in collaboration with marketing and managed market teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive, territory-specific business plan aimed at achieving corporate objectives.
  • Gain access for specialty products in accounts, including protocol and formulary access.
  • Conduct account management at all transplant centers within the assigned territory.
  • Foster confidence in Takeda's holistic approach to engagement and assist with ongoing service and support.
  • Develop relationships with Executive Level, Operations, Financial, and Pharmacy personnel within transplant centers.
  • Call on key stakeholders to position Takeda's products and ensure effective supply and support of the product portfolio.
  • Develop relationships with Thought Leaders and leverage clinical expert relationships to educate and inform therapeutic processes.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of the transplant market and related healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
  • Experience in account management and stakeholder engagement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with transplant surgeons and organ specialists.
  • Knowledge of clinical pathways and protocols related to transplant products.
  • Familiarity with managed care and formulary processes.
