About the position

The Key Account Manager at Europastry is responsible for managing and growing sales of the company's baked products, including bread, pastries, and viennoiseries, with national retailers such as Trader Joe's and Costco. This role is essential for driving business growth, fostering strong retailer relationships, and executing sales strategies that align with the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Trader Joe's and Costco, managing day-to-day operations and communications.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with buyers, category managers, and key decision-makers at both accounts.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring that company products are well-represented in each retailer's stores.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow sales and market share with Trader Joe's and Costco.
  • Identify and pursue new product opportunities, including promotional programs and seasonal offerings.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess account performance and align on future growth strategies.
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, and contracts, ensuring profitable sales growth.
  • Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities within the bread, pastries, and viennoiseries categories.
  • Work closely with category managers at Trader Joe's and Costco to ensure optimal product placement, shelf space, and inventory management.
  • Partner with internal teams such as Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure alignment on product launches, packaging, pricing, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Supply Chain teams to ensure the timely delivery of products and to manage supply chain challenges.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for each account, including sales growth, profitability, and product performance.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and contribute to demand planning to ensure product availability.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or account management, preferably within the food industry, with a strong focus on national retailers.
  • Previous experience managing accounts like Trader Joe's, Costco, or similar large retail chains is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing successful relationships with major accounts.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and develop actionable insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
