About the position

The Key Account Manager at Syneos Health Commercial Solutions is responsible for managing and coordinating key customer accounts within the healthcare sector, particularly focusing on oncology. This role involves developing strategic partnerships, understanding customer needs, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration across internal teams to achieve access goals and enhance customer satisfaction. The position requires a consultative approach to problem-solving and a strong emphasis on relationship-building with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of each assigned customer account including strategic goals, value drivers, and unique challenges.
  • Create account plans integrating market vertical organizations and influencer mapping.
  • Understand contracting and product access processes at key accounts, including BID/RFP/PT workflow.
  • Engage with oncology C-suite executives and key population health decision makers to expand partnerships.
  • Perform targeted PIE engagements with top community and health system accounts.
  • Support clinical advocacy and ensure coverage on provider pathways and formularies.
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams for account strategy development and business planning.
  • Lead matrix teams without authority and guide field team engagement with customer accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (B.A. / B.S. required; advanced degree preferred).
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant work experience, with at least five years in healthcare sales/account management.
  • At least two years of key account management experience in Vaccines, including Buy & Bill and specialty pharmacy.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to develop organizational capabilities while influencing others.
